John,

It could.

On another topic, I receive e-mail from a lurker of Intel thread, Joe Shepard:

Joe......please pass along to Diamond Jim and Jim McMinnis that they are selectively reading their Wall St. Journals.....I heard last evening that the WSJ published that two repub counties already did manual recounts..... Also, why didn't Bush ask for recounts in repub counties and why didn't he accept Gore's offer to manually recount the whole state......

John, here's an earlier article on the Seminole County absentee ballots, with a little more information on what allegedly happened there: nytimes.com

Disclaimer: this is, of course, from the NYT, house organ of the liberal media conspiracy. Free registration required. Given the overwhelming faith among SI posters in the objective and non-partisan judgement of the Florida Bush campaign co-chair in such matters, I will refrain from posting my usual sardonic thoughts on the matter.

Cheers, Dan.
