I agree on the CYA point. I don't agree on the SoS. People can and do argue over what would have happened "if" one official did or didn't do this or that (was that clear <g>). There have always been corrupt "officals" and there always will be regardless of party affiliation. Each side files whatever in order to be proactive. Bush blew it b/c he didn't ask for recounts within the 72 hour period. He can't cry foul now. My point to the Gore side is that they willingly stopped counting knowing the appeal process was continuing, so don't cry foul now either. I truly hope the S-court rules according to law. I couldn't believe my ears yesterday when I heard someone state there was a "100% chance the corrupt court would rule in favor of Mr. Gore." I don't know what the "law" truly says but I do know it was out of bounds for a justice to ask about what Texas law says. Their task is not to discern other states but Florida alone - that question harmed the credibility of the justice and also suggested they haven't been doing their homework to be prepared. Sorry for the length.
