AMD is expected to make 2.50 EPS 2000 and is expected to pull 2.38 2001 (first call). Intel estimates are 1.69 for 2000 and 1.72 in 2001. Per share, AMD is currently much more profitable than INTC. AMD is expected to make about 50% more earnings per share in 2000. I would call that very profitable, even with their ridiculously low product prices.
