Skeeter,

Do you think the Gore team out-lawyered the Bush team in the details or do you think they just had a better strategy to begin with?

Personally, the way this market is acting I am upping the probabilities of "the" deep recession coming soon.

I dislike Gore a lot, but I'm no fan of Bush and think he has the wrong policies for this snapshot in time. So I have very mixed emotions.

In general, my libertarian tendencies are hoping that the wipeout that may be in progress gets interpreted correctly.

At its core, free markets and animal instincts had only a little to do with it. The fault lies in the huge weaknesses in our monetary system, unchecked credit expansion, bailouts, and other "socialist" ideas that prevented the corrections early on and added fuel to the game later.

Wayne
