It is a political appointment...
sec.gov

Actually the SEC is out there to protect us and are trying, with that new rule to protect us but it's like New York City trying to rid itself of organized crime <g>

I actually met the guy, Arthur Levitt back in the 70s, he lives near me and was at a dinner party I was at. Very down to earth, normal guy. Trying to fight the battle for the little guy against the big crooks. I also think he started as a floor trader or a broker so he knows what REALLY goes on. He has my respect, it's an impossible job.

What I think I'm seeing happening now is a backlash because of the new rules - seen recently in absurd downgrades on stocks that have already hit bottom and downgrades of entire sectors. The big boys are pissed IMO. I also think they are being "leaked" the info ANYWAY, it's obvious from INTU and CFLO - they started dumping them both yesterday.

I also think that the bigs boys are doing their best to try to destroy the small trader with the recent selling. But they better realize that we are there partners in this business, and if we all stop trading, who are they going to trade with, only with each other?? Because there's no way the majority of us would ever give our money to a broker to invest after having the power of managing it on our own.

And it's not the little guys hitting stocks to the tune of 10-20 points even when they meet expectations...
