ftth and Peter- Thanks very much for the articles and comments regarding Bluetooth and 802.11 I'm not sure if it's just me, but from reading all of ftth's article(twice) and Peter's comments, it sure seems like Bluetooth may have trouble gaining traction against 802.11.

Seems Bluetooth has two things going for it, a cool name and a cheap chip. Other than that, the article seems to indicate Bluetooth may create problems within any wireless device/network operating today. Even a simple cordless phone, much less walking into an office that has already installed a wireless LAN. I can just see the signs now, "No Bluetooth Allowed."

BTW, even Intel's very simple Anypoint wireless home network will not work if one has a cordless phone already in the home. I noticed this doesn't seem to be indicated in their marketing materials. They wait until you buy it to tell you.

So at this time it seems like no one knows for certain which wireless networking protocol will be the strongest. I suppose it depends upon whether one is talking about a WPAN or WLAN(maybe even a WWAN). I didn't think it was so complicated but I probably should have known better.

With all the marketing hype concerning Bluetooth, an average investor would think that was the way to go in terms of an investment idea. After reading the articles and opinions in the last two posts, I can see it won't be an easy decision. Thanks. -MikeM(From Florida)
