Come on Jay, the Florida legal standard is "Voter's intent", Florida did not specify what that is. But other states that have addressed the issue including Texas (where Bush signed into law what the Voter's intent is a dimple) have accepted that standard. If Bush think it is good for Texas, there is no solid ground to say it is not good for Florida where many elderly live and may not have had either the temerity or the physical force to pierce the ballot. It is not like if this was a big Bush victory or so. Not only did Gore get a marginal popular vote advantage nationwide, but there are many indications that Florida was indeed dead even or slightly Gore's. Right now the difference is 700 votes or so for Bush, without dimples. You must admit that the Buchanan spike vote In the Butterfly territory (some 4000 votes of which statisticians said that at least 3000 should have been Gore's if you just compare the ratio of Bush/Buchanan votes in all other countis there) indicate that this election could have been few hundred votes one way or the other. I am not talking about future suits by the NAACP dealing with black voters being harrased (by traffic cops) on the way to the elections, and other irregularities of the same kind. The vote was split and it is only fair that the local canvasses or courts decide what should and what should not be counted.

By the way, I am out of CYMI at $21-7/16 (gain less thann $1), MVIS at $28-7/16 (marginal gain) and the holy one at $14-13/16 (loss of $1 on this one)
