>**OT**For oldtimers only<

I believe I qualify for that category :^)

I was working for what was at the time the Wis. State Highway Commission, Design Section, on the 7th floor of the State Office Bldg @ 1 W. Wilson St. in Madison. Guess my memory isn't shot yet!

Our section chief, I think his name was Les Derleth, announced the news to us. We all stood around, at first dumbfounded, then angry, then sad.

The next three days were even more bizarre and numbing. Glad those days are behind us....or are they?

Where were you when Kennedy was assassinated?

I was preoccupied with cellular division, and never noticed. (I was born the following spring.)

Instead of the end of the hostage crisis for my generation, I'd postulate the end of NASA's infallible aura with the Challenger explosion.
