RE:"the Bush team always seems to be playing catch up. Maybe this should give pause to the folks that were of the opinion that said Bush wasn't all that smart, but would surround himself with good people."

Sorry but I don't consider more and better Lawyers to be "better people"...

RE:"I don't concede that. Florida law has provisions for manual recounts. The Bush lawyers went to court first to stop the recounts. I would say that is trying to change the rules. Now the Reps are encouraging the FL legislature to disregard the FL SC opinion, and force a constitutional challenge. That's offensive to me"

The first lawsuits were by Democrats against the PB canvassing board (democrats) over the ballot. This put all the canvassing boards on the defensive and even furthered thier political bias...

RE:"re: "Gore voters must be proud the NASDAQ ia now approaching 2700..."

I think both Gore and Bush voters are probably equally disturbed, and their candidates are equally responsible"
--

I don't think so, because every time Gore seems to get an advantage in muddying up the election, the market tanks.
What are we off now, 500-600 on the NASDAQ since Gore Lawyers started changing the rules...?

Jim

John, <But you are right, the Gore team always seems to be anticipating the next move, in their current actions, the Bush team always seems to be playing catch up. Maybe this should give pause to the folks that were of the opinion that said Bush wasn't all that smart, but would surround himself with good people.>

"Good people" indeed. Maybe "skilled manipulators" would be a better label than "good people." And these days, it looks like the Democrats really do have the more skilled manipulators.

I shudder when I see people admiring politicians for their political skill over the ideas and principles they hold dear to.
