Actually NYC's crime rate is considerably lower than all major Texas cities.

On another note, Republicans should rejoice on the prospect of a Gore Presidency. They will win solid majorities in Congress in the 2002 midterm elections, and will probably win big the Presidency in 2004, with the added advantage of full control of Congress. The party that wins the Presidency in 2000 will be the long term loser.
