Programming isn't for everyone. For some it comes naturally, for others it's almost impossible. It really depends. I think you need a logical mind (after all, programming is based on logic) and the ability to formulate and solve problems. A good programmer is also resourceful and is able to learn from examples. That said, the only way to find out if you can do it is to try it.

I've been a programmer since high school and it's very natural for me, but I know some people who have tried and just can't do it or can't do it well.

Jon Tara:

I wish I could make programming a career. But I'm type A behavior and impulsive via heredity.

I would like to write software to test-out some trading ideas and possibly automate some tasks.

From what your saying, Excel must be the way to go. Rats! Now I have to learn math formulas.

Thanks,

Dominick
