Re: "You Dems keep dem people in chains."

You're just whistling Dixie on this one.

I suspect ghettos arose because of 246 years of physical enslavement and 381 years of economic servitude.

What was the name of your band?

OT Does anyone remember the Morton Downey Jr. show? There was a scene in which Roy Innis pushed Al Sharpton (sitting in his chair) over. Actually, it was quite comical. Roy knew what true racial equality was about and Rev. Al just couldn't take it. Ron, we need more people like you speaking out. Too many minorities buy this idea that they are inferior and therefore need all this extra help. Those that see get put down when their lifestyles change for the better by those who remain misguided.
True story: I have a friend (black), self supporting, who married a woman on welfare with children. At the beginning, he needed govt assistance. When he started to strive to break out from the bondage, she was angry at the govt. for what she perceived as pushing them to go for the gold alone. He correctly told her, the govt doesn't "owe" them and that it is his duty to strive as best he can in order that their dependence end.
It's unfortunate that this mindset of Jesse and some liberals continues the myth of "giving food rather than teaching to plant".
