Does this almost makes one wish that you were ruled by Kings and Emperors. Probably not, but in a week, who knows?

Carl,

you would think that the Republican and Democratic party officials in the House and Senate would be thinking about ways of gracefully arranging for the other party to win the Presidency.

They're too short-sighted when it comes to Power. <G> I thought the Democrats would do the same with Clinton -- figure out how to move him out and let Gore have two years of looking "presidential" before the elections.

Go figure.

Unless there are even newer developments, the Republican disturbance was probably yesterday morning when the Dade County canvassing board told the Republican observers that they were no longer needed and then tried to move the examination of the ballots to a smaller room with no (or very small) windows. The Reps stood in the hall shouting things like "Let Us In" until the board relented and moved everything back to the first room. That's what partially led to their decision later in the morning to simply halt the manual recount. And then to Gore and Daley's efforts to sue one of their own counties to continue the counting.

It was quite a day.
