Re: No 1.2 GigaThumpers available on Pricewatch ?

There are entries from 9 companies with ETA's between 11/30 and 12/4. But you can buy one from an OEM now.

So, in typical AMD terms it is a paper launch, while in Intel terms this constitutes flooding the market putting us all at risk of drowning in 1.2GHZ Athlon chips.

I'll bet AMD has already sold a lot more 1.2GHZ systems through Micron and Gateway than Intel has sold P4 systems through Dell etc. Partly because nobody seems to be much interested in P4 systems - the word is out on their "designed for the future, useless for today" feature set.

:-)

Dan

PS - having to recall all the P4 systems for a quick BIOS update can't have helped the sales rate, either.

Paul,

No 1.2 GigaThumpers available on Pricewatch ?
That's the AMDroid definition of a paper launch - correct?

It is something that concerns me.
