<<I wonder who those people are. The people I talk to are fascinated, impatient, amused, bemused, annoyed, disgusted. I don't know a soul who sees this as a constitutional crisis. And even if they did, they're not about to "grease up the Winchester."

I don't know any of them. Do you?>>

Might I be so bold as to ask(broadly) where you live? I've met a great many.

You just don't know any gun toting crazies. Neither do I. All the people I know are simply are amused, not even much disgust on this coast. But then these are upper middle class capitalists, happily ensconced in very expensive homes, sitting on piles of stock option cash- they don't have much to be unhappy about.

And the election has provided more than the usual amount of entertainment.

I think what gets me most "bemused" from the writings here and elsewhere, is the belief that their candidate has been the only one acting properly, fighting for justice, and represents the best of America, while the opposing candidate is disgusting, despicable, childish and dragging the county into the gutter.

So many people seem to be incapable of understanding what the view looks like from the other side. On this thread, I see a lot of Bush supporters writing as if they think it should be obvious that Gore is at fault. But of course, to the Gore supporters it is equally obvious that all of the problems are due to Bush's tactics.

What is funny is that Bush, the man of the people, is telling us we can't trust people and need to trust machines. While Gore, our first techno wiz kid candidate, is telling us that we need to trust people, not these error prone machines.
