Bob: In 1995, LSI was at its peak and was earning about $.80 a split adjuested share. Going forward, LSI will double that and then some at about $1.78 a share. Any time a company doubles its earnings per share in a five year period, that company is going extremely well. Furthemore, this time LSI is not facing the most protracted downslide ever in the chip market, nor for that matter is about to begin expensing a new fab. In short, LSI has never looked better, and its stock, which is selling at TWELVE times next year's earnings has never looked cheaper.
