TALLAHASSEE -- For two weeks, Vice President
Al Gore has portrayed himself as a man struggling to
be declared the victor in an election he believes he
won. Thursday, his lawyers transformed him into a
man prepared to legally challenge the results of an
election that Florida officials are poised to declare
was won by somebody else: Gov. George W. Bush
of Texas.

that President Clinton and his underlings have been left
red-faced, time and again.
