Flap....are U serious....the only reason the ballot vote was stopped in Miami was because of a mini-riot?? No other reason???? just a few out of towners ranting and raving...sounds to me like the Dems were looking for the fastest way to the exit in this can of worms bought upon them by David (who let the dogs out)Boies...very smart these Miami dems..very smart. doc

absurdly the people voted for a dead man and in effect his totally unqualified widow. his widow probably has very minimal credentials to be a senator. she said little if anything to seek office or demonstrate her credentials. prior to his death, his opponent was likely to win. Ashcroft, being a politician, probably realized he couldn't campaign or point out that Mrs. Carnahan was unqualified to be senator. he realized the people would take umbrage at his "attacking" the governor's widow. ahcroft, for whatever reason, has not sought the seat on the basis that governor Carnahan being dead did not meet the residency requirement.
