There is something very wrong with a legal system that will grant some of society's most valuable prizes (such as admission to a university) based on skin color or gender- -and will intentionally pick inferior candidates in doing so.

The ONLY argument I have heard to justify this is that the beneficiaries of affirmative action were oppressed for so long. This is nothing but a new twist of the "two wrongs make a right" argument.
