You might be right. However, it would be much more Supreme-like in such a situation to deny certiorari. That would make a stronger statement. Moreover, why would the Supremes take on a situation voluntarily just to "legitimize" the election? Why would they feel the need to bolster the Florida Supremes? Aren't elections legitimate without court intervention? Or, do you think their egos are as big as Al Gore's, and they relish the opportunity to jump in? You're treading down a dangerous path.
