I understand that point. And it is that increased world-wide demand that is the cause of the rise in oil prices. So an oil cut-off from Iraq will cause crude prices to climb higher for everyone. Which will divert some spending away from consumer goods in the US. Maybe 20 or 30 $Billion. Is that a big deal ? Is it enough to trigger inflation ? recession ? I don't know.
