I'm not sure I understand. They are making money. I agree the stuff they sell is niche product, but they ARE selling it...and they ARE making money with it. They are forecasted to make about 15.5 million this coming qrtr. If they do, that puts their (ttm) earnings at 2.61 per share...or 31,581.000 for the past 12 months. The P/E would then be roughly 6 (ttm). If they meet the forecasts, and the market gives them a P/E of say...10, even for a brief time, the price of the stock would then be 26.1 per share. That is a return of 10 dollars per share or 62.5%. Now, given the fact that they will see a slowing after the holiday season like all retailers, the stock will probably drop back to a lower level. That is why I am targeting between 25-50%. I am not interested in hitting the tops or the bottoms. I just want to increase my capital. And if I can net a return somewhere in between that 25-50% range in the coming 2-3 months, I will be very satisfied. It seems like a reasonable bet to me....but I have stops in place. I view it as a trading stock...like any other retailer. If you take say...16k and increase it by 25% 5 times in a year, you wind up with just under 49,000 before taxes. Take out the 28% in capital gains or roughly $9,300 and you end up with a return of roughly 150% for 5 trades. Gotta try right? I certainly feel better about this SHRP trade than the trade I made in ETYS.

As far as having you build one for me...well, I certainly appreciate your offer and if I were trying to save money, I would consider taking you up on it. But I have a big shop full of tools here, and I am a pretty resourceful guy. I wouldn't try to copy this product in my shop...especially for 50 bucks. We are getting our 11 year old daughter one for x-mas....along with a helmet, knee pads, elbow bads, etc...ride safely. Did you see the nose hair trimmer? 6,000 rpm baby! If I didn't like plucking my nose hairs so much, I would be requesting one of them from Santa this year...<gg>

I'm not trying to sell this stock to anyone. I was just sharing my trade with the thread. I'd rather come back later and say I sold it for 14 and lost 2 bucks than say I bought it at 16 and sold it at 22 after the fact. What good are these threads if everything is after the fact right?

By the way, there are already lots of imitations out there for this scooter. My wife says she has seen them as low as 50 bucks in some places. But I haven't seen one with front shocks yet, and that raises an interesting point. My first thought of these things was that if a child were to hit a small rock or something on the pavement, the front wheel would lock up and throw the rider over the handlebars. Not good. With the front shocks, I feel the scooter is safer in that it would likely absorb the shock of hitting something small on the pavement rather than just "freezing up" the wheel. It is ONLY because of this front shock that I am willing to let my daughter ride one....and I am willing to pay more for that feature.

FWIW

The "teen hot list"

Look what's #1

etoys.com

It needs shocks...like this one.

sharperimage.com

What's another 30 bucks? But they have the one ETYS sells for the same $99 etys wants.

Hah, just found my "whole family" gift too...
sharperimage.com
The dog is gonna love that...hehe
My 2 and 3 year olds will get a kick out of it too.
Take a close look...SharperImage invented these.

Anybody else X-mas shopping today?

Anyway, gotta go check these Wee-Bots out before I buy. Want to make sure they aren't some cheesy plastic junk. I have a 1/2 hour drive. Recognize any of these places?
sharperimage.com

I'll let you know if I find any other crazy niche products I like.

Greg

GREAT Post, Tony! having been on S.I. since 97,
there are only a handful of people i trust.

Within that handful, there are maby 1-2 i would
trade a stock solely on their say so, because i
have seen their integrity, and they have been
absolutely honest with all. Without question,
YOU are one of those people.

One thing is true: People forget things, and they
have selective memories!

When JFK jr died, you made a heartfelt and soulful
epilog. When you went to Kosovo, you again made
a personal sacrifice i dare say no one else on S.I.
would have the balls to make, yet your detractors
label you, thinking if you throw enough $hit on the
ceiling, some will stick. When you asked us to send
your mom a "Happy Birthday" greeting, again that came
from your soul and heart. Personally i stand with you,
no matter who else cuts me off......
Hey, no guts, no glory!

I am proud to know you, and I'm certain the majority
of people agree with me. I pretty much stopped
posting on S.I., but if someone comes after you,
they better know you have a lot of friends.

Happy Thanksgiving- Skane
