No, you may not be wrong with the $5 target. I do own 1000 shares of ANTC at much higher price and I do not plan to sell any time soon. I invested in ANTC for the same reason you did. I live in Lowell MA so I do know about the pricing issue you brought up but I also am a customer for the bundle product and I love it. Digital cable/Digital Music/phone/cable internet for 89 dollars a month...can't beat that with a stick! not a bargain but not a bad deal if you have enough people in the family that want to use all of the services, all the time. It would be nice to see they lump in long distance unlimited for the same price...then you really have a bargain.

"Last year the old GTE (now Verizon) sold off some access lines in the midwest and received a sales price of over $3K per line!"

PC- I'm assuming this is for that tired old twisted copper pair too. Do you have any more info about this or maybe an old url?
__________

"T needs to be aggressive with its pricing of local telephone service via cable in order to grow the business."

Just in case you didn't know, T was agressive. So much so that the market trashed both T and ANTC because they thought T was desparate to reach their goal of 500,000 telephony subs by year end 2000 that T gave away the service. I'll try to find the url.....well I couldn't find it but did find another interesting url of a post I did in July.

Message 14048297

...so they already reached 400,000 telephony subs AND they have 1,000,000 cable modem subs. Both goals reached last week. Like I said before, the media is trashing T today. Can you imagine how the media would be trashing T if they hadn't reached their goals.
____________

"Well, today's press release is a sign that T might just fall on its own sword."

Well not exactly. Arris has sold 1,000,000 voice ports. T has installed 400,000. So there is a possibility that it's just a matter of T ordering too many and have to use them up before re-ordering. At least that is the spin both ATT and ANTC seem to be putting on this debacle. -MikeM(From Florida)
