i am an ivy league law graduate-top 20% of my class. i left my office and watched the entire oral argument; i read the florida supreme court decision carefully; i am a democrat; the decision is an outrage; my posts (which i worked on) which i cited will show any intelligent fair-minded person why the decision is clearly wrong. for the ny times and others to say the court had to reconcile two different laws and did its best to do so is wrong.for the ny times and others to say the court did a good, earnest, fair job at the oral argument is wrong. if you are interested in seeing if the opinion is clearly wrong you can read the posts. the republicans(actually at least one was a democrat) made winning arguments-perhaps, you should watch a tape of the oral argument
