LTK007, I think ultimately, everyone wants a fair ballot process. Actually I very reluctantly, voted for Gore. My vote was motivated toward, the nesecity to maintaining some level of support for the regular people.
It seems like time is running out, for Gore. Bush may only win by the equivilent of a technical decision, in a prize fight, but thats still a win.
I have had a sense for a while that the republicans may get back in. I think we had the equivilent of the Super Bowl indicator, for the market this year, when the world series was held in N.Y. and both teams were from N.Y.. This indicated to me that the stock market run wasn't over, and a bull elaphant run, will resume.
Secondly, now that the innovative nasdqu, has shown the the more traditional, N.Y. Stock Exchange, big money, where the future is headed, its time for the old boys network, to step in, and position themselves for a big piece of this future. The yankees winning confirmed that transition, for me.
I am like Bill Clinton, as apposed to Nader. I am willing to share and compromise, to get the job of high tech infrastructure build out, done. I say lets get everyones energy involved its a big job, that according to Cornings CEO, his gradchildren won't see the end of, his companies part of the build out.
If Gore does somehow win, thats o.k., because he invented the internet. But Bushes probusiness attitude, will help the remergence of investment capital back into the co.s, that are building the information technology infrastructure, as well as, all the companies that make and provide services, that help others, make use of the 21 century infostructure. This build out, is providing many benefits to big business's bottom line, interms of improving opperating effiencies, new markets, capabilities, that give big business, opportunities to be more flexible, scalable and fast. Because of this infrastructure, big business can be bigger than before, but function with the flexibility of a small business. These 21 century technologys are strategically critical, to the ability of big business to make profits in the future, maybe the build out will be a little less visable for a while, but its definitely moving ahead with great dispatch. Because the demand, present and futre is driving it.
How this all jibes with all the valid posts concerning overaluation and coming low points in the mkt and individual stocks, is something I take seriously, and value. I just don't want to let those considerations cloud, my ability to see the strength of the long term picture, or loose site of indications that still support the perspective that the build out of the optical network for the metro is still growing at a fast rate. |
