Zeev,

I do not think the German people want to revisit that period of their history when they had a psychopath running their government. Germany has enough difficulty reintegrating with the former East Germany. The notion that they would want to reach for Poland is ludicrous. Russia would never stand for that and neither will the US.

It looks Bush will be the next president and he will be surrounded well educated and seasoned cabinet which will be able to deal with crisis. I am not worried about Germany, it has come a long way in the last 50 years.

So I think you are being unduly pessimistic about this election. I doubt if it will have much lasting effect on either the economy or the US ability to function in the world. I would like to see the states change to a more accurate voting procedure. This was "stone age politics" with the political machines in charge.

So cheer up! The sky is not falling in -yet. <G>

:)

Zeev:
when the German right will insist on reannexation of parts of Poland ceded after WWII.
German companies buying AMerican companies like Chysler and and Chase Matthattan Bank, it will be a long time before German governments will be able to conquer the hearts and minds of other countries if they can't even negotiate reasnable terms for themselves fairly simple business transactions.

Stock futures falling off from highs since stolen election was announced by Harris at 6 PM. People know when they should not be hanging on to stolen goods when the cops -- Supreme Court -- begins the process of determining blind justice.

Zeev,

Looking at things from the UK I would say that the probability of Germany trying to extend it's borders is lower than that of a civil war erupting in the US over the presidential succession.
