Poet, I am not sure whether your are a trader, investor or both - or perhaps just schizophrenic -g-

What I have found fascinating about the markets is the range of emotions that the ups and downs produces - ranging from a feeling of euphoria when all goes well to a sense of despondency when things seem at their most dismal. My view is that we have not seen the level of capitulation that is usually associated with a good bottom. Admittedly, we have had a couple of days when stocks have been dumped wholesale but it seems to have been short-lived.

What I am not able to gauge as I scan various threads is whether the apparent level of nonchalance that one sees at times is the result the a feeling of being shell-shocked or whether it constitutes complacency - if it is the latter, I suspect that we have more to go to the downside even if we see some knee-jerk rallies.

When we have a decline of this magnitude, there has to be some catalyst to cause a turn-around in the psychology of this market.
