Doug,

They(spent fuel rods) don't go anywhere! The government was supposed to build and operate a reprocessing facility but has failed to do so. The Utilities got together and sued the gov. on this issue and WON! It did no good. Only military and government owned spent fuel has been shipped off-site.

OT

The spent rods go nowhere - getting to be a VERY big problem. They aren't just scrap; it costs a lot to babysit them.

Also your cost/kWh don't include the high US government subsidy for fuel, nor the true liability costs that conventional power plants must budget for.
