I was only being a little facetious. Of course he is capable of the same ruthlessness Gore is, but I don't think his temperament instinctively tells him to trash and demonize his opposition. It apparently comes naturally to Gore.


You're quite right -- the Bushes have always known how to hire the Lee Atwaters of this world, and pretend they themselves know nothing of the tactics employed. Remember South Carolina?

EXCUSE me? His whole game plan for this election was built on trashing Gore's reputation, that, and as NPR put it, unmerited optimism about his rather nebulous future policies. I can't believe you don't see that.
