Logistics.com(TM) to Provide Compaq Computer Corporation Transportation
E-Procurement Solutions for All Modes of Transportation Worldwide

Logistics.com's Proven B2B Technology, the Digital Transportation
Marketplace(TM), Chosen by Compaq to Streamline Its Procurement Needs Via The
Internet

BURLINGTON, Mass., Nov. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Logistics.com, Inc., the leader
in online transportation procurement and management, today announced that
Compaq Computer Corporation (Nasdaq: CPQ), one of the largest suppliers of
computing systems in the world, has agreed to begin utilizing Logistics.com's
full suite of transportation e-procurement capabilities. The first phase of
this partnership spans global freight transportation for all modes of
transportation -- air, ocean and land-based -- as well as strategic, tactical
and spot market Internet-based procurement.
Logistics.com will leverage its Digital Transportation Marketplace(TM)
(DTM(TM)), its B2B technology for online transportation procurement and
management, to meet the needs of Compaq's global freight transportation
network. Three key components of the DTM will be utilized; OptiBid_RFP(TM)
will be used for strategic multi-attribute freight contracting,
OptiBid_Online(TM) for tactical lane-level contracts, and QuoteShip
Exchange(TM) for spot quote transactions. All three levels of procurement will
be used to procure Compaq's domestic and international freight transportation.
"Compaq investigated all available global procurement solutions and found
that Logistics.com offered the best and most comprehensive product solutions
suite," said Thomas Day, director of Global Transportation, Compaq Computer
Corporation. "Most impressive was its ability to procure freight globally and
across all modes of transportation using all bidding platforms. This will
result in substantial efficiencies and cost savings across our organization."
"Compaq is renowned for pushing the envelope of technology not only in its
own products, but in every facet of its business operations," said Yossi
Sheffi, CEO of Logistics.com. "This philosophy was one of the contributing
factors in Compaq's decision to use Logistics.com's total procurement solution
to distribute its products globally. Our partnership solidifies the
leadership position of Logistics.com in the global transportation procurement
arena."
The partnership between the two companies, which is effective immediately,
will initiate the drive by Compaq and its selected transportation providers to
increase operating efficiencies. A strategic ocean freight transportation bid
using OptiBid_RFP is the first deliverable of the relationship.
Shortly after its launch in May 2000, the DTM has already completed
successful freight transportation bidding operations with a number of the
nation's leading shippers and carriers. "The DTM is proven, with real
transactions and real dollars flowing through it," said Gregg Borgeson,
president of Logistics.com. "That was clearly attractive to Compaq."
Technology solutions powered by Compaq are an integral part of
Logistics.com's innovative infrastructure. To increase database storage and
tracking capabilities, Logistics.com purchased Compaq ProLiant servers in
January, 2000 to support its business critical services. "While Logistics.com
is very much a strategic enabler helping Compaq operate more efficiently, they
are also a customer who values our products and services," said Day.

IBM's arch-rival Compaq Computer Corp (NYSE:CPQ - news), the world's biggest personal
computer maker, is already a big supplier of servers to the life science sector -- including the
Sanger Centre.

Article should have said Compaq currently leads in this market segment with IBM trying to catch up.<g>
