You know, it's occurring to me that a Bush presidency could
actually be better for my environmental issue on several
levels.

Rather than hearing Gore drone on about the environment,
making it just another one of those things that we
collectively tune out, or assume is is in the capable hands
of earth concious politicians (which probably wouldn't be
the case), the 'oil man' would likely attract a whole lot
more political attention to environmental issues from the
opposition party needing fodder and by being the fund
raising tundra poking poster boy held up to raise millions
and millions of dollars for environmental interest/
activism.

Redwood Summer, a very important turning point in saving
the ecology of the redwoods, and changing the dominant
mindset, happened under a Republican president. Iy happened
under James Watt. It very well may never have happened at
all with a Democrat in the Whitehouse. Bush, by the
*absense af virtue there could unintentionally help create
a politcal climate of counterpoint that in the long run
serves the environment and earth's interest in a more
significant way.

I *do however think that the U.S. Dept of Education should make
Dubya's speaking/synaptic disability job #1. ...even if
Gore ends up as President. <g>
