md- Are you serious? Are you that blind that you can't see what happened? FL, being insanely close, has a law that permits hand counts. By law, Gore requested those counts in select counties. You still with me? However, Bush goes to court to prevent these counts. This delays the hand count tremendously; so much so that in the end, Dade gave up its hand recount, since it didn't have time to finish within the FL Supreme Court deadline. The real question is, was the Will of the people (in FL) validated? The obvious answer is no. And, when you add in the confusion of the butterfly ballot, it is even more glaring that the will and intent of the majority of Floridians are being disregarded. Lastly, some food for thought: What would have happened if the SOS was a Democrat?
