..but Jerry...using only hand counts from predominantly democratic precincts with boards under democratic control is unfair..you are substituting "let the people's votes be counted" with let the peoples votes be manufactured...its not fair to only hand count those three counties...you want to be frightened, you go look at those repub strong holds over there on Fla west coast and the size of the Bush victory..this election won't even be close if truely, as you suggest ALL the votes are counted...I mean, jeez how many votes 'werent' even counted in Port Charlotte" /....come on , now

Hi Jerry - Some points to consider:

When you say "the fact that Bush has gone to the Supreme Court claiming that FLSC overstepped its bounds, by moving the certification date is a technical move that in no way speaks to the issue at the heart of the ruling" you are forgetting that the this is EXACTLY what the Supreme Court will hear in this case. Did the FLSC change the rules by extending a set date that was written in Florida laws?

You should also consider the silliness of this statement: "it's almost as if Bush is wasting the USSC's time with this."

If it was wasting the USSC's time they would NOT HAVE TAKEN the case. Do you think they are dumb?

A very important aspect of the USSC's taking this case is the question they asked of the two camps. That is "what effect would it have on the outcome if we did overturn the ruling?" (not a word for word quote). They now will be able to say that if you DON'T overturn the decision of the FLSC our presidency will be in limbo while the democrats challenge any possible situation that would give this CLOSE election to them.

If they DO overturn the FLSC decision the rules will go back to the way they were written in FL law. The contest you are so giddy about may still go on, but it will be under the rules originally on the books. It also will be hard to get the public behind you when the USSC basically confirms that you are a nitpicker that couldn't win even with an ILLEGAL assist from the FLSC.
