John, so many highs stem from irrational exuberance that they make poor reference points. The Pimco fund you linked is doing amazingly well, given its technology weighing.

Re 'loading up': I wish I knew what to do. No doubt most of the upward leg of the SEMI equipment cycle is over [orders -based on time since the orders low].
What will the down leg look like? Could be quite different from previous cycles. I expect AMATs final low price to coincide with an orders low [as happened before].

Right now it's a trading stock for those who trade.

According to MarketGuide, as of 9/30/00, Pimco was largely sold out of AMAT. I wonder if your source or my source is dated?
