Hi Ken

Love to watch you stirring the pot.

If I was GWB I also would be afraid of a statewide handcount, especially after seeing Broward County do their thing.

I doubt there would be any concern if it was done by unbiased people according to the preelection standards and norms throughout the country.

Broward was a sham, especially that lady. THe way they were manufacturing those votes I was expecting the union to want to step in to organize the counters.

Regards

Neil

Yes, History will record that he turned down an offer to have all of the votes hand counted because he was afraid of the result.

Really? I'm going to pick up a history book someday, and it will really contain a passage that states, "in the 2000 post-presidential election turmoil, George W. Bush turned down an offer from Al Gore to have all of the votes hand counted because he was afraid of the result."

Come on. Don't you think you're being a little melodramatic? Gore lost because he wasn't smart enough to win. Wouldn't you say that's closer to reality? After all, he had the odds heavily stacked in his favor THREE times, and yet he and his operatives still couldn't invent the votes he needed to win. If for no other reason, THAT alone should convince you he bumbled things badly in Florida and he doesn't deserve the Presidency. Do you want a bumbling failure as your President? Bush won. Forget about it, because it's over now.

John

Gore didn't have the authority to offer a statewide recount. He and Bush have no authority to make any deals either. At least those deals that would ignore Florida law. The election doesn't belong to Bush, Gore or the parties. You cannot make up rules as you go along.
