OT/Winkman. No, conservative does not = "right wing".

"Right wing" and "Left wing" ARE pejorative terms that express implied or even explicit criticism of people whose political views are too far from the political center to be labeled by the more moderate words "liberal" or "conservative".

In fact, during my undergraduate years studying political history at Rutgers, these distinctions were repeatedly emphasized by my professors as important and not in any sense academic hair splitting.

And adding the further qualifying adjective "fringe" or "extremist" (another term you've used in your posts in recent months) defines the views the person under discussion as even further removed from the mainstream of political discourse in this county.

I object the use of terms that are unfair WHEN you use them to exaggerate or spin the political position of individuals either on this thread who you don't agree with, like me, or in public life, like J.C. Watts, when the truth is we both hold moderate or centrist conservative views.
