The Van Damme -- Giant Entertainment connection or lack there of:

QUAGMIRE CENTRAL: While Elie Samaha seems to be trying to ascend to legitimacy, his old partner, Avi Lerner, seems to be stuck in the old habits. Lerner is being sued by "independent film producer" David Dadon (Giant Entertainment) for dumping Dadon off of a Van Damme film called Replicant, currently in production. Ironically enough, I know a guy who had to sue Lerner a few years back for dumping him off a Charlie Sheen car wreck called No Code of Conduct. His claim matched The Hollywood Reporter's description of Dadon's claim word-for-word: "Lerner reneged on an agreement to provide Dadon with producer credit and payment for his involvement in." and "also alleges that he introduced Lerner to." Just switch Van Damme for Sheen and you have the same exact claim. It is a small world after all.

It does not seem that MVEE will get any of this movie. While MVEE's former business partners, Nu Image/Millennium Films, are the distributors, I believe MVEE's deal with Van Damme only includes movies produced by Van Damme's own company.
