----------- Note from the President----------- --Veale International Equity Warehouse-- Dear Employees, As you know in recent times we've seen some slow-down in our business. This has caused us to cut back on the overtime in Shipping. However, we don't at this time see any reason for concern regarding potential lay-offs. Yes, as shipments have slowed, we've all been able to relax a bit. This actually comes as a comfort to those who were working many extra hours during last Spring's Sale Bonanza. As the Company still remains profitable this year, we do expect to be paying out our usual bonus. Please give extra help to those in the Purchasing Dept. as the burdens have shifted from Shipping to their area of work in recent times. As you know, we attempt to inventory only the best quality merchandise and to do so at the best prices possible under market conditions. It is a credit to the Purchasing Dept's hard work that we've been only slowly adding inventory while waiting for the best possible prices. As inventory turnover has slowed, so has the potential for realized profits. In the past, we've usually found that this is a self correcting problem. Once the rest of the market inventory balances normalize we'll start to see demand for our own inventories start to rise.
