How long has it been since Sun confirmed its guidance? A week or two? The market Sun is in is different from that for consumer products. It involves products for which companies plan ahead, and those plans don't change much based on whether retail sales the day after Thanksgiving are good.

Don't forget that Sun has a backlog.

JMHO.

Hi A.L.

The trouble is that no one knows what "normal" means and "historical" numbers have little to do with the dynamism of today's markets.

"Historical" p/e's from the 80's & 90's look at Sun as a vendor of workstations for the scientific/engineering market. That has little to do with the internet.

All the euphoria has been dampened by party-pooper AG, but there's no reason I can think of why that shouldn't return, once interest rates come down.

Dear A.L. Reagan: Most people seem to feel 25% REVENUE growth for SUNW is probably on the low side. If that is true why would you think PROFIT growth would only be 25%? I really doubt they would have decided to split the stock if they didnt see a bright future ahead. But, then lately, what do I know. JDN
