There was a lot discussion about that on this thread last week. I think the conclusion was that it was the 2 millionth T-Bird version of Athlon that the story referred to. As always I may be wrong.

Even if I also was a little bit disappointed with their manufacturing rate at Dresden I think they will make their numbers even based on those numbers. There still seems to be some Athlon production in Austin even if this will soon be stopped, so they will not double (from 2.2mio/Q3 to 4mio/Q4 Athlons) their production but already 2.7mio should be enough to hit their guidance. I would be very surprised if they warn.

TGP, <grasping at straws> Here's a straw. I got this email from a lurker at 2:52 PST:

I wrote to AMD about the Gateway warning. Obviously they didn't say anything substantial. But they seem to be sticking so far with their previous guidance.

Pretty vague, and his name Jason S.E. doesn't sound familiar.
