Petz: Some of the younger members of our thread probably never saw the flick.

And some of those who did half-slept through the thing. A major disappointment in my book. Conceptually and philosophically extremely interesting, but the combined total of 7.2 minutes of dialogue, albeit amazingly quotable, in a 139 minute movie (149m here in Scandinavia, 156m for the director's cut). Seeing it in '68 might have made a difference, of course, since many of the concepts were so completely new that more time could be used to let the viewer absorb them.

I remember it from the original showing also. I believe HAL was getting his circuit breakers, or some other critical set of components, pulled as he started loosing it.

Back to AMD, the two full page Athlon advertisement is in this week's INFORMATIONWEEK, same as last week.
