Hi Jim,
I, too, have contemplated some sort of play with UOPIX and QQQ. I've thought about owning both to start, selling UOPIX in rising markets and buying QQQ in falling markets. Obviously one would eventually own all QQQ, so there'd have to be periodic re-balancing.

I spent quite a bit of time cursing bad luck on missing dips in UOPIX at various times over the last two years. However, now being tapped out and 116% invested (money borrowed from the bond fund) makes me suspicious that a 20% HOLD ZONE isn't even enough for UOPIX. In this collapse we've seen share price drop about 80%. That's tough even for AIM!

In case others haven't seen the UOPIX history, it's at

Note that this isn't my own investment, but one that I manage for my fraternity alumni group. It represents half of the total. The other half is in GSF, my favorite bond fund. I've not received any death threats yet from my fellow fraters, but sure hope I can show them some good has come from all this buying by next Homecoming!

Best regards, Tom
