AlLe,

During the George McGovern campaign, the left wing of the Democratic Party took control. It has maintained that control ever since. Many of the more centered or conservative Democrats are no longer in office. For instance, the well respected Senator Sam Nunn refused to run for another term choosing private practice instead.

I suspect that the current ultra left wing ideology of the Democratic party will remain intact unless the party's survival is threatened. Is this happening now?

I never knew that so many Republicans love the Democratic party so much so they want to save the party from self-destruction.

Personally, I could care less if the democrat party dies.
Problem is, in doing so, it will tear the country down with
it. I do care for the Green Party, and it will grow a lot
due to Gore's actions. The Green Party will out shine the
Democrat party in 2004.
