By the way, many pension funds and the like close their books today. Maybe they'd like to show high cash and few turkeys, which conceivably could be magnifying overall selling today.

I've been doing a little buying today - it's very hard to go against the herd, but it's often the right thing to do.

I agree that mandatory reporting would not rlead the FDA to loosen up on approvals give the present structure and concepts of protection in place.

Eventually things may change. Mandatory reporting, for a limited time of one or even two years, might help others including the public be more willing to seek change. Right now I can pay as much as I want for any natural product to cure whatever I think it will. However, I am prevented from using a product produced by a drug company, that a doctor might think would be of use, until the government gives its' approval.
