Well, letting just the Republicans into the elections offices to fix up the bad applications after they had been returned and rejected is a trifle irregular, you must admit.

Up to the courts now. I'm not sure if the Dems want to win this one, considering all the bad publicity they've taken over the absentee military ballots.

Though the Republicans should be careful here; impugning the Democrats' patriotism over the military ballots is creating a backlash. How else do you explain Gephart's and Dashcle's sudden public support for Gore, a man they don't like and would be better without?

Fact is, Florida has tossed lots of absentee military ballots since the dawn of time -- it's the stupid Florida law that requires a postmark and date, after all -- but it never mattered until now. The Democrats are pretty steamed at being slimed for trying to follow the technicalities of the law.
