I personally think that there should be an easier way for people to actually register a "None of the Above" vote other than not registering at all or staying away from the polls. But my impression(without having any data in front of me) is that roughly the same percentage of people stay away from the polls in every election. Which means that even in elections that were won by larger margins, the candidates offerred did not cause a greater stirring of the electorate.

The big question is, did the same 50%(roughly) stay away in every election? If so, why should we be wringing our hands over the mandate(or lack thereof) that any candidate gets? The rest of the population doesn't care anyway.

Was that a quibble?
