<<I personally think that there should be an easier way for people to actually register a "None of the Above" vote other than not registering at all or staying away from the polls. >>

For once we agree on something. I also find it vile that Gore team is trying to get ALL the votes where there is no vote for President marked.

<<The big question is, did the same 50%(roughly) stay away in every election?>>

Truth is at any given time there are many people that are not eligible to vote living in the US and part of our population on the census. The number of "high tech" workers living & employed currently in the US on a temporary status are the stuff of legend. At any given point there are many people in the process of becoming US citizens but can not yet vote. There are members of the German Air Force(& their families) at a base in New Mexico(before anyone asks, no I have no problem with it). Students from abroad attending our universities and the list just goes on & on. Felons.

Point is, NEVER will all of age living in the US be eligible a vote.

3rd I that is exactly the rationalization that allows the media to completely ignore the overall electorate. Statistics tell us that the Non voters are a fluid group voting locally or not at all as their own mobility, interests and age & lifestyles dictate.

It is a travesty for the truth. If the National press can imagine that 51% of the population does not exist, why dont they cut their ad rates by at least that amount as we must not be watching Super bowls and soap operas. I think we have turned off their news.

When someone disconnects from the minority, it matters, these people form their own stream and begin to act differently. The temptation to be cast as belonging within the ruling elite is powerful, but once one reconciles the actions of minority rule in a cause effect sense, the disconnect becomes a moral issue.

Trickle down minority rule, only trickels so far, because the power brokers need their cut and extract the lions share of all largess well before the voting electorate gets much of anything at all.

Lastly, each party has within their numbers a medium % of voters who will not hold the line in the face of a better more compelling opportunity, and it are these voters who will bolt very soon to the new stream of politics being born from our numbers.
