I want to see some frikkin passion flowing from those damn stilted Seniletors on both sides. That damn Trent Lott, from my homestate no less, absolutely is the biggest wuss. I think they ought to mud the floor of the senate and house and go at it in their underwear with bunnies serving drinks in the stands. Televise it and pay off the debt.

I disagree that politics is or was always this way in Washington. There was a time when things were much more cordial and congenial. For instance, when Tip O'Neil was Speaker of the House, he and his Republican counterparts often went out together socially after the day's work was done.
