Since you don't know, I'll tell you. You lose. You're out the $15k and the ring. How is this relevant? Because sometimes the law is not fair to you, but that is necessary to do the least amount of harm to other innocent parties. Bush's operatives cheated, the Seminole County elections director acted in a biased, partisan fashion, Gore was materially injured by this wrongdoing, therefore, to minimize the injury to the 50 million + people who voted for Gore those ballots cannot be counted.
