Claude/Scott, I think people that believe digital cameras will kill silver demand are way out in left field. This analysis is severely flawed.

It tends to believe the North American and the well developed nations will switch from film to digital, but it ignores where the real growth in film/photography is, that is in developing nations, China/Asia and S America, these people are on lower incomes and lack communication/internet infrastructure to go digital.

Their numbers dwarf the developed nations, but their incomes are rising as manufacturing has shifted to these nations and goverments are trying to stimulate growth. These consumers are using film and more of it. This will more than make up from the drop caused by digital use.

In any case as you mentioned Claude, it would take a dramatic change to swing the supply deficit situation.

Silver remains a ticking bomb, just like palladium and more recent Nat Gas.
